Dr. Billinghurst graduated magna cum laude from Rutgers University and earned his medical degree from Cornell Medical College in New York City.
During his training, he conducted spine research at the Hospital for Special Surgery and participated in biomechanics research at Erasmus University in the Netherlands. Following this, he completed his orthopedic surgery residency at UMDNJ and a spine fellowship at the San Diego Center for Spinal Disorders.

A: Whenever possible, Dr. Billinghurst recommends conservative treatments such as physical therapy, spinal injections, epidural steroid injections, and radiofrequency ablation (RFA) to relieve pain without surgery.
