With a remarkable career that spans military service, advanced surgical training, and experience working with elite athletes, Dr. Leotta offers unparalleled expertise in orthopedic care.

A Strong Foundation in Medicine and Service
Dr. Leotta began his medical journey with an orthopedic internship and residency at Eisenhower Army Medical Center in Augusta, GA. During his military service, he deployed to Iraq as a battalion surgeon with the 1st Armored Division, providing critical care to soldiers in high-pressure environments. He also served as the medical director of detainee operations with the 101st Airborne Division, further honing his ability to manage complex medical challenges. After his final military posting in Heidelberg, Germany, Dr. Leotta completed his residency at SUNY Downstate in New York City.

Advanced Training in Sports Medicine
Committed to advancing his expertise, Dr. Leotta completed a fellowship in sports medicine at the prestigious UHZ Sports Medicine Institute in Coral Gables, FL. There, he gained specialized training in treating complex knee and shoulder conditions and performing a wide range of orthopedic surgeries, including minimally invasive arthroscopic procedures and advanced revision shoulder replacements. His expertise also extends to elbow reconstructions, hip and wrist fractures, and orthopedic trauma care.

Dr. Leotta has worked extensively with professional and collegiate athletes, serving as a team physician for the NHL’s Florida Panthers and the head team physician for Palm Beach Atlantic University. These experiences provide him with a unique understanding of the physical demands of high-level athletics and the specialized care required to keep athletes performing at their best.

As an avid competitor in marathon obstacle course racing, Dr. Leotta shares a deep connection with his patients. He understands firsthand the physical and mental demands of training, competition, and recovery. When he’s not caring for patients, Dr. Leotta is a devoted husband and dog dad to two beloved pups. A true foodie, he also enjoys crafting homemade ice cream, delighting family and friends with his culinary creations.
